FAQ
The questions people actually ask, answered against the transaction rather than around it.
Money
What does it cost?
One percent of the change, and nothing else from us. On a 58 cent round-up that is a little over half a cent. Solana charges its own network fee of about 0.000005 SOL, and the first purchase of each stock needs a refundable deposit of about 0.0015 SOL for the token account. Fees has all three.
Is there a minimum?
No. But there is a point below which it is not worth it: the one-off deposit for a new token account is larger than a typical single crumb. It pays off by repetition.
Is there really no fee?
Really. There is no fee instruction in the transaction at all, so there is nothing to verify, cap or trust us about. You still pay Solana its network fee and the refundable rent on a new token account, because those are the network's, not ours.
Do I need $CRUMBLE to use Crumble?
No. Using the app never requires holding it, and the app takes nothing from you either way.
Custody
Do you hold my stocks?
No, and we could not if we wanted to. They are sent to your wallet in the same transaction that buys them. There is no vault, no balance we keep for you and no withdrawal step.
What if Crumble disappears?
Nothing happens to your holdings. They are in your wallet and were never anywhere else. You would lose the round-up feature, not the stocks.
Can you take anything from my wallet?
Only what a transaction you approved says, once. There is no standing approval on Solana the way there is on other chains, and no Crumble program that could hold one.
How do I sell?
Like any other token in your wallet, on any exchange that lists it, with or without us.
The basket
Why did my crumb only buy one stock?
Because four will not fit. A Solana transaction stops at 1232 bytes, and a swap plus three legs measured 1166 on a good route and overflowed on a worse one. The app buys the leg furthest below its weight, so the basket converges over several swaps.
Will it actually end up at my weights?
Yes. Run the rule over 200 crumbs at 40 / 20 / 20 / 20 and it lands on exactly 40 / 20 / 20 / 20. Early on, though, you are concentrated in whatever it bought first.
Where is my basket stored?
In your browser. There is no contract to keep it in, so clearing site data resets it to the default. Your holdings are unaffected.
Can I change it?
Whenever you like. It only affects future round-ups; what you already own stays as it is.
The mechanics
What is the round-up measured against?
The dollar value of the swap you are making, rounded to the next $1, $5 or $10, whichever you picked. The difference is the change.
Can I put in more than the change?
Yes. The Invest extra field adds a flat amount on top, in the same transaction.
Do I have to approve a token first?
No. Solana does not work that way: you sign one transaction and it does exactly what it says.
Who does the actual swapping?
Jupiter routes it across Solana's liquidity and returns the instructions. We assemble them into the transaction and you sign it. We do not pick pools.
Trust
Has anything been audited?
There is nothing of ours to audit: we did not deploy a program. That removes a category of risk and adds a different one, which Security sets out honestly.
How do I know I am buying the real NVDAx?
Check the mint address against Addresses. Three tokens on Solana are called "NVIDIA xStock" and two of them are worthless. The app pins the mint and verifies it on every load.
Who issues the stock tokens?
Backed, not Crumble. What the token is worth, and who stands behind the share it tracks, is not ours to guarantee. Read Risks.
